THE JONES ASSEMBLY

The Jones Assembly - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Jones Assembly is a mega step forward for the Oklahoma culinary and entertainment scene.

Jones, a concept by The Social Order (you know them from SPARK at Scissortail Park, Fuzzy's Taco Shop, and more), is located in Film Row, one of Oklahoma City's many districts. Film Row got its name from the 1930s when it was home to notable film companies like Paramount Pictures, MGM, Universal, Fox, and Warner Brothers. Jones is in a great spot across from West Village Apartments and to the south of 21c and their gallery. Parking can be difficult at times, but there's always hope with several spots along Fred Jones Avenue and Sheridan.

The Jones Assembly is located at 901 W Sheridan Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73106.

Jones Assembly Is The Place To Be

"The Jones Assembly pairs outstanding refined regional cuisine with an innovative approach to live music. A 225-seat restaurant with a full-service downstairs bar and elevated cocktail bar, The T Room on the mezzanine, The Jones Assembly also boasts a 1,600-person capacity for live concerts and one of Oklahoma City's largest and most inviting patios. The Jones Assembly is proud to bring Food, Spirits, Music to Oklahoma City's continuing renaissance." - The Social Order.

The Jones Assembly really is taking things to the next level. Featuring a fantastic menu that's concise but offers a wide range of variety, each dish is crafted with care and DELICIOUS. Their menu is updated often for food and drinks, so you can experience something new almost every visit! You can enjoy live shows and events, or dial it down a bit and hit the T-room, a "secret" upstairs bar that's more relaxed with booth seating and dim lights as well as an outdoor patio. Jones also boasts a pretty kick-ass outdoor patio on the first floor with mini-concerts, games, and fresh air.

How Does Jones Stack Up?

I had the opportunity to join The Jones Assembly for their Winter Menu launch. At the time of this review, I am only reviewing their 2021-2022 "Winter Menu," which features a majority of their staple items and some new offerings I will highlight below!

Brussels Pizza

The lemon curls on the Brussels Pizza made for a WILD touch of citrus. It was the perfect addition of zing to a very nice deep nutty and savory Brussels Pizza. The lardon was the perfect flavor and texture, adding a salty element to the pie. While this might not be my favorite Jones pizza, looking at you Elotes Pizza, it will for sure be making its way into my "Usual Suspects." πŸ• Featuring brussels sprout leaf, lardon, romesco sauce, provolone, lemon, and almond.

Chicken Fried Carrots

Technically this isn't a new offering, but I'm going to cover it anyway because it's the most Oklahoman thing you can do to carrots, and it's so effing good. Featuring pistachio, parmesan, chives, and a hot honey aioli, these long-cut carrots are breaded to perfection. Start your meal with these or add them on the side, and you'll be a happy camper.

Clam Chowder

Holy sh*t, this chowder is good. Very spiced. Incredibly well flavored. Not your mom's clam chowder! Really salty, but perfectly so. Buckle up, you clam chowder champions; this is the winner. Featuring littleneck clams, serrano ham, Nueske's bacon, Yukon gold potato, onion, carrot, celery, roux, topped with a wood-fired dough.

Lasagna

Lasagna has always been a weirdly important dish in my life. Not because I'm a huge fan of Garfield, but because the chef I look up to the most, Michael "Spence" "Old Man" Spencer, from OH! Baby (my co-owned short-lived restaurant in The Collective, RIP) once took us all out to several Italian restaurants in OKC to determine who was the best. His standards were simple, and they were fair: order a glass or bottle of Decoy Pinot Noir and the Lasagna. Lasagna... a dish my mom made my siblings and me growing up many times, and was never my favorite. I never understood why Spence did this. That was until I had the Jones Assembly lasagna.

"Wow wow wow wow" - me after my first bite. This lasagna is the bomb. The radicchio and the sauce are perfect. I was skeptical when it came out, but 10/10 would order this again. This dish features pork sugo, house-made pasta, mornay sauce, mozzarella, crispy basil, and radicchio.

Butterscotch Bandino

This dish can only be best described as a gourmet version of butterscotch candy! Boasting the perfect texture, thicker than a pudding mixed with little crunchy bits of dried orange peel and salted caramel. This is an ideal treat to share. Or don't, I won't judge. πŸ‘€ Creamy and dreamy. This dish features butterscotch pudding, rosemary and cherry caramel, cashew and orange ice cream with amerena cherry.

Drinks:

Dew Drop In

Want a cocktail that tastes like an apple? Here you go! Poured with Suntory Toki Japanese whisky, Midori, Lillet blanc, granny smith apple, lemon, matcha syrup, and cava brut.

Sherry Darling

A cute little drink sporting a "Jonesin'" drink flag/stir stick. Poured with lustau amontillado sherry, St. Elizabeth allspice dram, mathilde crΓ©me de cassis, black currant, orange, and lemon.

WHAT I WANT TO TRY NEXT

I didn't get the chance to try the Lavender Matcha. A new featured drink with matcha, vanilla, honey, lavender.

Elevating the OKC experience

I stan Jones Assembly. I've never had a bad experience there, and the service and facilities are exceptional. Our server, Emory, was a saint. If you're reading this and in management at Jones Assembly, you better hang on to this one!

I love trying new things, mostly food. It's hard for me to fathom that people would be so closed minded and unwilling to try exotic foods or experience so I will be their surrogate. I'm a huge gamer, mostly kicking butt on all the consoles but delve into some PC gaming. I also love living in OKC, OK it's a city of passion and it's growing at a rapid rate.
